Crusty Tomato Scallop

2.5 cups canned tomatoes
1 cup dry bread crumbs
1 Tbsp. minced onion
1/4 cup butter
1 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. dry mustard
2 slices bread, buttered

Combine all ingredients except buttered bread and put in buttered baking dish. Cut bread slices into cubes and sprinkle over tomatoes. Bake in 400 degree oven for 30 minutes. Andrea's note: "I use part crushed tomatoes and part diced tomatoes for texture."

A family recipe that was served at Christmas and Thanksgiving for as long as I can remember.
